This picture was taken in Maastricht in the Netherlands. This urban/industrial landscape was just minutes from the town center over looking the river Maas. The rest of Maastricht is very beautiful and ancient and nothing like this at all. However, I still think this landscape has a unique beauty of its own also.

Hello, it’s been ages since I have posted! I’ve just been so busy with other stuff, but it’s really good to be back posting photographs.

This is a picture that I took today in my garden of a new toy deer I just bought. It’s so cute!!! I was lucky that the Sun came out for a bit as the rest of the weekend is meant to be rubbish, which is such a shame as there is so much going on as it’s the Queen’s Jubilee long weekend.

Hope to catch you soon guys!

Okay so this image is not exactly ground braking or an amazing interpretation of the set theme. However, I just loved seeing this cool little green insect having a quick rest on this lovely daisy in my garden, Isn’t nature great!

I had wanted to visit Dungeness for ages as there is a small beach house there clad completely in black rubber and I knew it was a bit of an architectural oddity.  But apart from there being a massive nuclear power station in Dungeness which dominates the landscape I knew very little about the place.

I was in for a treat as what a strange beauty the place has with its expanse of shingle beach which is dotted with rare flowers and desert plants. The birds called and wheeled above my head in a vast sky which seems to go on forever.

Abandoned

The shingle is scattered with long abandoned tumbled down fishermen’s huts that jut out at odd angles from the landscape.

While there are lots of Tar painted timber cottages doted along the shingle at Dungeness there are also modern homes such as this above.

I want this house!

If you get a chance to visit Dungeness you must as it is magical!

Oh and if you are wondering about the rubber house, I’m saving that story till next time :)

I’m on holiday visiting with my mother in Kent as well as supposedly taking some time out to work on my degree dissertation. Yet working is so difficult as the weather has been unseasonably warm for this time of year and it just seems criminal staying indoors right now. ..so Kent day trips beckon!

With my camera at the ready I set off to the local church in the village where I’m staying to photograph some stone Angels in the grave yard.

But then it’s on to Canterbury cathedral to indulge in some historic built beauty which is over fourteen hundred years old! Here are just a few of the images I took that day. I hope you like them!

Okay now its back to work!

It’s been cold and sunny here in Aberystwyth for the last few days and today I went out during my lunchtime to get some shots while the sky was blue. Aberystwyth is a small town on the west coast of Wales. In the summer it can get pretty busy down by the sea, but in February its very quiet, just the locals and the students from Aber University.  Here are just some shots that I took today…

Deer little Diary: part 2

This week my cat Honey was diagnosed with Feline Diabetes (diabetesmellitus). She had been ill for some time and after several useless visits to Vets they finally found out what was wrong with her. This week I have had to get used to giving her insulin twice a day with a needle! A bit tricky at first but I think I have the hang of it now. She seems a lot better even after only a week of treatment. So much so, that I took a few pictures of her playing with little deer.
