Hello, it’s been ages since I have posted! I’ve just been so busy with other stuff, but it’s really good to be back posting photographs.

This is a picture that I took today in my garden of a new toy deer I just bought. It’s so cute!!! I was lucky that the Sun came out for a bit as the rest of the weekend is meant to be rubbish, which is such a shame as there is so much going on as it’s the Queen’s Jubilee long weekend.

Hope to catch you soon guys!

Little Deer

Little Deer

Ok…so I tried to create my own ‘Winter Wonder Land’ by making a homemade Snow globe…  My efforts at this failed badly hehehehe! But I thought I would share it with you as I think it’s funny.  I hope I have more  luck with making crafty stuff in the New Year…

Wishing all my blogger friends a happy New Year!!!!!

Monster in the tank!

It’s been so rainy and grey today so finding these lovely and cheerful French macaroons for sale in my local supermarket was wonderful! How sweet they are to look at as well as being so good to eat (too good!)  And I love the cream ‘between’!

Deer me!

Deer me!

Oh and my neck is much better now and I’ve also found some pink fizz too! Cheers :)

I still have one more day of work to go before I’m off for a whole week, yay! Unfortunately most of this time will be taken up working on my dissertation, boo!

For the last 5 years I have been doing a part-time degree course sponsored though my work (which is very kind of them) and I’m now in my final year. Learning is great but sometimes the reality of all the work that needs completing can be overwhelming. Still it will be good to finish it…at last!

Also I’ve done something to my neck…slept on it badly or something and I can hardy move it now. I’m walking around like a robot! I’ve taken some ibuprofen which seems to of helped, but if it still doesn’t get better soon I can’t see myself doing lots Christmas partying! Someone at work mentioned ominously about a neck brace; which brought on fits of laughter from my work mates at the thought of me sitting rigidly at the Christmas dinner table with a silly paper hat on my head and a big white collar around my neck!  (What a wonderful photo opportunity)

Anyway I’ve been wondering around my house taking pictures of little things again to cheer myself up and I thought I would post them. I hope you have a great Christmas and a fab new year…

This is a photo that I took of my Son years ago; he is nearly 18 now!

He’s become very interested in photography himself  and I really love his stuff. (but then of course I am his Mum!)

When I was a kid plastic animals were everywhere, when you went into a toy shop there they were in a big glass cabinet; Sheep, Cows, Horses and little Chickens in colorful rows.  I had a whole 'farm set' at one point and I always had little plastic horses to play with. Kids I think are still into model animals theses days...but just not perhaps as much as they used to be... I have looked in lots of secondhand shops for plastic toy animals, but you just don't see them anymore...So unless everyone keeps all thire old plastic play animals (which is possible), or kids don't play with them as much anymore. However I have come across a company called Schleich, that make the most fantastic model animals. I've just added a few images below experimenting with some of my new Schleich animals. I first came across Greengages when I was on a trip to France a couple of years ago, at first I didn’t know what they were as I had never seen them before; Such an amazingly bright green little fruit. However I will never forget the first time that I tasted one...that lovely sweet flavour with none of the slight sourness that you sometimes get with ordinary plums

The lovely Greengage is a member of the plum family and it was developed in France from a green wild plum variety that was originally brought over from the middle east. It is identified by its small, oval shape and smooth-textured flesh, (no grainy bits or sourness to the skin like in regular plums) The colour of the fruit ranges from bright green to deep yellow.

They are known for their rich, sweet flavour and they are considered to be one of the finest of all the dessert plums. So you can imagine my delight when I for the first time saw them for sale in my local shop!

And do you know what...Greengages make fantastic crumble! Way better than Apple or Rhubarb. All you have to do is cut them in half, remove the stones and then arrange them in a baking dish (no need to add sugar as they are so sweet by themselves). Spread the crumble mixture on top and bake till golden brown. You can use Greengages to replace plums in any plum recipe. With the crumble that I made I also added some regular plums and some blackberrys which I already had in my kitchen.

The crumble was enjoyed with some cream...it was lovely!
